Case Summary: Acute Urinary Retention due to Urethral Calculus
A young male patient presented with acute inability to pass urine and was referred for an ultrasound examination of the whole abdomen for further evaluation.
Ultrasound Findings:
A focused perineal ultrasound approach was performed. A well-defined echogenic focus was identified in the bulbar/membranous urethra, consistent with a urethral calculus, likely responsible for the patient’s urinary obstruction.
Impression:
Urethral calculus causing acute urinary retention.
